By 'capital asset sectors' we refer to those industries which require significant investment in fixed or moveable capital goods in order to be able to operate. Guildhall has undertaken assignments for firms in the following sectors:

• Mining & Related Metal Refining
• Shipping


Businesses in these sectors are likely to be characterised by some or all of the following in their day-to-day operations:

• significant capital investment, often debt-funded
• exposures to commodity, fuel and energy prices
• exposures to currency, interest, and freight rates
• environmental risks and exposures to clean-up costs

Strategy, finance, risk and governance issues therefore enjoy a symbiotic relationship to which the Guildhall approach lends itself quite naturally.  Occasionally, commercial and financial contracts may give rise to disputes which require expert input or mediation as part of the process of resolution, areas on which we are also able to assist.
