Guildhall was engaged to assist the group treasury of a major British airline in a strategic review of the financial exposures arising from its multi-billion dollar leasing portfolio.
The brief included a review of lease agreements, and specifically the termination provisions included in the documents, to assess any embedded sensitivity in the value of the contracts to airframe prices, currencies and interest rates. An assessment of available interest rate hedging strategies was also provided. Guildhall was subsequently retained to assist with a review of broader group interest rate exposures and their management.
